Ryan Benson

Founder of DFW Pack Leader and Co-Founder of 18:12 Solutions, Ryan is a born and raised Texan. He resides in the DFW area with his wife and two children.

Ryan grew up Colleyville and graduated from Grapevine High School, where he knew he would become a professional communicator one day. After graduation, he spent many years in various industries such as, coaching, training, teaching, mentoring, and guiding others.
In 2002 he and his girlfriend, now wife of 19 years, rescued a horribly misbehaved lab/chow puppy that permanently changed Ryan’s life. This led to the creation of DFW Pack Leader in 2005. This business has always been about more than traditional behavioral training. Its purpose is as follows:
We are driven by a passion to establish harmony and strengthen the companionship between our dogs and ourselves. Behavioral training educates and equips us with the ability to be healthy leaders, effectively communicate, and cultivate lasting companionship. It is through healthy leadership and positive reinforcement that we nurture
within our dogs not only a want to follow, but a chance to live up to their own potential, while seamlessly weaving the human condition in with canine condition. You lead...They Want to Follow.
In behavioral training, Pack Leader’s primary focus has always been the human development first, then canine development. All of our dog’s behavior originates from our behavior. With this unique approach, Ryan has been able to interject behavioral training into numerous areas of life that could not be done with obedience training. Through DFW Pack Leader, we have managed to change our client’s lives. From helping a young adult heal from childhood trauma, blending two families together, assisting a college student cope with chronic medical issues by teaching their dog to smell and identify when medications are needed, to helping families with mentally and physically challenged children find companionship with their pet; the possibilities have been
endless when the focus is on humans first and then pets. Ryan has constantly evolved in order to be beneficial to diverse clientele including a former president’s dog, George W. Bush, as well as multiple veterinary clinics and boarding facilities.
